OB Fellowship Application & Selection Process

We are grateful for your interest in our program. We encourage you to complete and submit your application as soon as possible. We offer positions to candidates with the best fit on a “first-come-first serve” basis.

Selection criteria

• All applicants must be graduates of an accredited family medicine residency program by the time the fellowship year begins.
• All applicants must be board certified/eligible in family medicine.
• All applicants must have demonstrated interest in under resourced communities.
• Our sponsor does not support J1 Visas

The application

Applicants are only considered for interviews after all required materials have been received. A complete application includes:

• Fellowship Application Form
• Curriculum Vitae
• Medical School Transcripts
• Three letters of recommendation (1 letter from your residency program director and a letter from someone who can attest to your OB skills.)

Review process

1. We start reviewing applications in July of each year.
2. Completed applications will be accepted until October 1 of each year.
3. Submit applications to: [email protected]
4. Once we receive your completed application, an email will be sent to you confirming receipt.
5. Completed applications will be submitted to our selection committee. The application will not be reviewed by the selection committee until it is complete.
6. The selection committee selects candidates for interview. This typically occurs within 1-2 weeks of receipt of all application materials. Our Fellowship Coordinator will contact you informing you of our decision.

Interviews

• The interviews for the 2027-2028 academic year will be conducted via a virtual platform.
• Interviews are granted by invitation only. The interview plays a central part in our final selection process.
• Candidates will meet with the Fellowship Director Dr. Rebecca Benko, and a subset of OB/GYN and Family Medicine faculty, as well as a current fellow.

Final selection

Our goal is to have the positions for our August class filled by October 31st. All applicants will be notified by email or by telephone of their status. We offer positions on a rolling basis. All applicants will be notified of our decision as soon as possible.
