Sometimes accidents or illnesses can cause long-term problems, like reduced mobility or chronic pain, even after you’ve healed. When this happens, a MultiCare physiatrist is here to help.
Physiatrists, also called rehabilitation and physical medicine specialists, are medical doctors who have special training in non-surgical techniques to diagnose, treat and prevent disabilities caused by accidents, injuries or illnesses. A physiatrist may work in collaboration with an orthopedic/sports medicine doctor or a neurologist.
MultiCare’s physiatrists work with you to evaluate your condition and develop an individualized treatment program. They use the latest techniques to help minimize your pain and guide you as you regain strength and return to optimal functionality.
