TACOMA, Wash. — MultiCare Cancer Institute has received accreditation from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation program.
This designation reflects a coordinated cancer program spanning nine MultiCare hospitals and our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to all the communities we serve.
Commission on Cancer accreditation is granted to institutions committed to providing high-quality cancer care by demonstrating compliance with the CoC standards. Each cancer program must undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with the CoC standards.
The network accreditation recognizes the strength of an integrated program operating across multiple hospitals, with services delivered through MultiCare Cancer Institute’s network of outpatient clinics, treatment centers and inpatient units across the Pacific Northwest.
The CoC network accreditation places MultiCare Cancer Institute among the top cancer programs nationwide that meet rigorous standards for multidisciplinary care, continuous quality improvement and exceptional patient outcomes.
“Patients and their families have long trusted MultiCare Cancer Institute for high-quality cancer care in their communities,” says Yarrow McConnell, MD, chief medical officer for MultiCare Cancer Institute. “Today, that excellence is formally recognized — reflecting not only the strength of our care teams, but also the growth, collaboration and innovation behind our network. Together, we deliver advanced, high-quality cancer care close to home, across the MultiCare system.”
As part of this achievement, MultiCare Cancer Institute has also earned distinction as an ACS Surgical Quality Partner, a designation that highlights our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in surgical care.
