MultiCare Health System to launch Innovation Program
MultiCare Health System announced today a partnership with the Innovation Institute to advance its efforts to creatively address health care issues. This collaboration will provide the clinical teams and staff at MultiCare with new resources to support innovation to improve health care, reduce costs and enhance and save lives.
MultiCare entered into the agreement with the Innovation Institute, a national, independent medical product incubator and health care services provider, to spark innovation across the health system. The Institute’s Innovation Lab, staffed with scientists, doctors and product experts who evaluate ideas, build prototypes and take them to market, will work closely with MultiCare Capital Partners, a team focused on fostering innovation within MultiCare.
Fostering innovation across its care-delivery platforms will help MultiCare realize its vision to be the Pacific Northwest’s highest value system of health. This work supports a focus on innovation that’s existed since MultiCare’s founding in 1882.
“Health care must innovate to meet the complex and evolving needs of the communities we serve,” said Bill Robertson, President and CEO of MultiCare. “Our partnership with the Innovation Institute, whose mission is to cultivate innovative solutions to transform health care, will uniquely position us to identify solutions to the challenges faced by the health care industry. We are excited to have access to these resources to engage our team members to make these ideas a reality.”
MultiCare is the Innovation Institute’s sixth health system Member Owner. Other Member Owner investors include Bon Secours Mercy Health, Cincinnati, OH; Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, Baton Rouge, LA; Avera Health, Sioux Falls, SD; Children’s Hospital Orange County, CA; and Valley Children’s in Madera County, CA..
“We are thrilled to be working in collaboration with the MultiCare team to develop and advance innovative solutions for their patients. They are a great addition to our family of owners,” said Innovation Institute President and CEO Joe Randolph.
