MultiCare opens new neighborhood emergency room in Puyallup
MultiCare Health System today announced the opening of a new neighborhood emergency room that provides South Hill residents with faster and more convenient access to emergency care. The new facility, called MultiCare South Hill Emergency, is located at 13106 Meridian East in Puyallup.
“MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is proud to serve the communities in East Pierce County and this new emergency room is one more way that patients can get the health care services they need,” said Jim Beatty, president of MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital.
The new 10,000-square-foot emergency room features nine treatment rooms and one trauma room, as well as onsite labs and imaging that operate 24/7. The facility is fully licensed and staffed by board-certified emergency physicians.
MultiCare South Hill Emergency is the third such facility opened by MultiCare as part of a larger initiative to deliver more convenient community-based care. During 2019, MultiCare opened neighborhood ERs in Bonney Lake and Parkland.
“These new neighborhood ERs provide patients with the same level of care as hospital- based facilities but without the long waits,” said Dr. Heather Justice, president of Western Washington Emergency Physicians. “They also make emergency care more accessible by being close by.”
MultiCare is partnering with Emerus on the launch of the new emergency rooms. Emerus is a Texas-based health care company that has extensive experience helping hospitals and health systems operate neighborhood emergency rooms.
