MultiCare has reached 11 consecutive years of recognition as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” health care organizations by the American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives.

The survey identifies health care organizations at the forefront of using health care IT to improve the delivery of care through leading practices and innovative uses of technology.

This year’s survey involved an improved system to allow participating organizations to better benchmark their level of adoption and outcomes achieved. MultiCare ranked as a “Level 7,” meaning that it has deployed technologies and strategies to help analyze its data and are starting to achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes.

Levels are based solely on an organization’s raw score without consideration for how this score compares to the scores of other participants.

MultiCare has been at the forefront of electronic health record technology since 1998, when it implemented MultiCare Connect. The electronic health record includes physician order entry, inpatient and outpatient area access, electronic imaging, patient access to records, bedside barcoding and other features that ensure patients get the safest and best care possible.
