5 reasons to run MultiCare’s Bridge to Brunch 5K
Have you signed up for the Bridge to Brunch 5K yet?
Maybe you’re a regular runner of this 5K. Maybe you’re just beginning your running journey and want to get your first 5K under your belt.
Either way, here are five reasons you should consider running in the Bridge to Brunch 5K this month:
1. Avoid the FOMO
Fear of missing out (FOMO) is great motivation to try something new. Bridge to Brunch is in its seventh year running, but the 2020 and 2021 events were virtual. If you missed last year’s return to in person, this year is another chance!
2. It’s for a great cause
Bridge to Brunch benefits the MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation, with a different focus each year, from supporting MultiCare Deaconess Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to sustaining and expanding access to behavioral health care in the Inland Northwest. Read more about this year’s cause on the Bridge to Brunch FAQ.
3. Stress relief
Running can help you manage stress, ease anxiety and boost your mood. When you run on a regular schedule, it gives you a consistent outlet for shutting off your mind and stepping away — if only temporarily — from your worries, leaving you feeling calmer.
4. Finish lines are meant to be crossed
Running a race, no matter how long, gives you a set start and finish point. It offers a clear goal, and completion of any goal can give you a huge confidence boost. It can even motivate you to run a longer race in the future, such as a 10K or 12K.
5. Brunch!
After all your training and preparation — and running or walking the 5K — you deserve to treat yourself. Stay after the race for a complimentary brunch, which includes mimosas for those 21 and up and live entertainment.
