At MultiCare, we provide a full range of gynecologic services, from routine screenings to surgical treatment for conditions and more. Our providers include board-certified OB/GYNs, certified nurse-midwives, family medicine doctors and nurse practitioners with expertise in working with patients of all ages, from teens to those in menopause.

Our services include:

• Care for gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis and uterine fibroids
• Genetic screening
• Diagnosis and treatment for common menstrual problems
• Diagnosis and treatment for infections, including yeast infections and urinary tract infections
• Menopause management
• Premenstrual syndrome management
• STD testing and treatment

Many of MultiCare’s gynecologists are also surgeons, skilled in using robotic-assisted surgery and other minimally invasive techniques to address a variety of gynecologic conditions, from uterine fibroids to ectopic pregnancies to pelvic pain and more.

• Bladder removal surgery (cystectomy)
• Burch procedures — bladder neck suspension for incontinence
• Hysterectomy
• Hysteroscopy
• Ovary removal (oophorectomy)
• Ovarian cyst removal
• Pelvic lymph node removal (lymphadenectomy) for cancer
• Pelvic prolapse treatment
• Sacrocolpopexy (treatment for complete vaginal prolapse)
• Tubal ligation
• Uterine fibroid embolization or fibroid removal (myomectomy)

Treatment for gynecologic conditions depends on several factors including your particular diagnosis, the state of your health and your goals for care. Together, you and your gynecologist will determine if surgery is the right treatment for you.

An important part of gynecologic care is an annual wellness exam. During this visit, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss any concerns you have and receive screenings necessary for maintaining your health. This annual visit also allows you to establish a rapport with a provider so that if an issue arises, you have a health care provider familiar with your gynecologic medical history.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that adolescents should begin routine gynecologic care between the ages of 13 and 15. Our providers are prepared to answer any questions teens have about their development and are happy to discuss strategies for leading a safe and healthy life.
