Integrated Services

Providing services where you need them

Checking in at Wellfound Behavioral Hospital

Access to mental health care can be a real barrier to wellness for many people — especially those most in need of help. For this reason, MultiCare Behavioral Health is leading the way to bring a new model of mental health care delivery to our region: integrated health care.

Integrated health care is built on a simple premise: instead of making people go out of their way to come to us, bring our services to them. It’s a holistic approach that provides a full spectrum of care to meet our community’s physical, mental and emotional needs, and helps people of all ages get expertly coordinated care for physical and mental health concerns.

Integrated Primary Care

As many as seven in 10 primary care visits in the U.S. are related to mental health. At MultiCare Behavioral Health, we’ve tailored our services so you or your loved one can get the mental health help you need right in your own doctor’s office.

  • Our mental health professionals are available in 11 primary care locations throughout Pierce and South King Counties.
  • MultiCare is proud to provide behavioral health treatment, consultation and medication management in the same place you and your loved ones receive medical care. We deliver expert treatments for most behavioral health issues, including depression, anxiety and behavioral disorders, for adults and children.

Integrated Services for Children

We offer specialized community-based services to help children overcome behavioral health problems. Our goal is to help families help their children achieve success in home, at school, in their personal relationships and in the community.

Our integrated services for children include:

  • Long-standing partnerships with 15 schools in five Pierce County school districts. This collaboration helps reinforce behavioral change within the school environment and may help your child access specialized school services, such as help with schoolwork. In-school services are available to children with Washington Apple Health (Medicaid).
  • Our partnership with Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital allows children to receive seamless mental health treatment and pediatric specialty care services.
  • Children, young adults and families with Medicaid coverage may receive specialized mental health services at Sunrise Medical Campus, conveniently located on South Hill in Puyallup.

Integrated Services for Older Adults

The MultiCare Behavioral Health team includes mental health specialists with expertise in the mental and emotional wellness needs of older adults,  to ensure close coordination of medical and mental health care for people over age 55, including:

  • Integrated mental health care in 11 of our primary care clinics. This allows older adults to get treatment and support services in their doctor’s office.
  • Therapy, case management and medication management for residents of several skilled nursing facilities throughout Pierce County

The Mobile Health Care Clinic provides:

  • Treatments for acute and chronic medical illnesses
  • Routine health screenings
  • Guidance from nurses and peer support specialists to help better manage medical conditions and treatments
