Yong Shin, MD, is an internal medicine physician providing care to patients in the Montesano community. Dr. Shin is dedicated to building long-term relationships with his patients and providing patient-centered care. Along with his medical practice, Dr. Shin has been teaching medical students at the University of Washington for more than 25 years. He has earned multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards and the prestigious national George O. Claypool Award from the American College of Physicians. He has also served as Assistant Dean for Clinical Medical Education for Western Washington.
Dr. Shin has been honored as the ACP Washington Chapter Internist of the Year and the Outstanding Rural Health Practitioner by the Washington Rural Health Association for his commitment to excellence in rural medicine. Away from work, he enjoys the outdoors and is an avid endurance athlete, having completed numerous marathons, a Ironman triathlon and a 100-mile ultramarathon.
