Shannon Wood, MD, MPH, is a board-certified infectious disease physician. Dr. Wood specializes in the care of acute and chronic infections and treats conditions such as HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, complex bacterial, viral and fungal diseases. She also focuses on prevention, helping reduce infection risk and support long-term health for both individuals and communities.

Dr. Wood served in the U.S. Army for 17 years. She was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by a desire to help others and make a meaningful impact. Infectious disease drew her in because it allows her to care for individual patients while also improving health on a broader scale. Away from work, Dr. Wood enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and reading.
