Mortada Shams, MD, MBA, FACC is a board-certified interventional cardiologist who provides comprehensive treatment for the full range of cardiac conditions. His clinical areas are general cardiology, coronary artery disease, preventive cardiology and temporary mechanical circulatory support. Outside of work, his interests include gardening, woodworking, cooking and traveling. Dr. Shams speaks French and Spanish.

    Dr Shams is incredibly knowledgeable and was able to clearly explain to me his recommended steps to solve my medical issues. At the same time I felt that he listened to me and helped to relieve my anxiousness. I was very impressed.

    Even though I still get the impression that I am an imposition (also why I dislike end of day appointments) , he is the only dr in this office in 7 years who even remotely seems to listen to me, and have some empathy for my questions, AND does not make me feel like a hysterical female. He is a delight

    Patients need to hear encouragement from their providers not just what improvements are needed. I work very hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle but I am only told what I need to improve not how well I am doing elsewhere.
