Melissa Chubbuck, MD

Melissa Chubbuck, MD, is board certified in hospice and palliative medicine, and internal medicine. In addition to earning a medical degree, she has a Master of Science degree in Nutrition. A career in health care combines her interests in science and the emotional work in medicine. Had she not chosen this path, becoming a park ranger or long-haul truck driver might have been attractive. Away from work, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, poetry, and kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery.

Practice Philosophy: I provide personal, collaborative care to people with serious and stressful illnesses by focusing on each individual’s values and goals. I am honored to support people living their best possible lives while coping with health issues. I especially enjoy caring for people who have survived extra challenges, including BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people, people with chemical dependencies and people experiencing homelessness.
