MultiCare Deaconess Hospital Earns ‘A’ for patient care

SPOKANE, Wash. — MultiCare Deaconess Hospital earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit that sets standards for excellence in patient care.

Leapfrog assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

“It is an honor for our team at Deaconess to earn this recognition,” said Greg Repetti, president of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital. “This recognition validates our standard of excellent patient care that we strive for every day with each patient.”

Leapfrog is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries.

“MultiCare’s mission is ‘partnering for healing and a healthy future,’” said Alex Jackson, chief executive of MultiCare’s central and Inland Northwest regions. “Our mission is supported by our values that include excellence and collaboration, both of which played an integral role in world-class outcomes for our patients and earning this national recognition.”
