MultiCare’s Heart Strings concert receives overwhelming community support
SPOKANE, Wash. — MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation announced today that the health system’s fourth-annual Heart Strings concert, held at the Fox Theatre on Friday, April 29, raised a record-breaking $700,000 in support of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
“It’s overwhelming to see such an outpouring of community support for our NICU unit,” said Carolyn Kadyk, executive director for the MultiCare Inland Northwest Foundation. “Our staff in the NICU are truly angels on earth and these funds will help support the outstanding care they provide on a daily basis.”
The concert, performed live with a virtual streaming option, included chart-topping hits from award-winning recording artists Joe Nichols, Cam, Andy Griggs and Frank Ray hosted by Grammy Award-Winner Bryan White. For those who missed it, the concert will be available to stream online on May 20 for $10, by visiting at multicareheartstrings.org
All concert proceeds will help provide Deaconess Hospital’s NICU with much-needed equipment upgrades, as well as additional patient education service and expanded patient financial support for those who need it. Babies born prematurely or with serious health problems receive treatment in the NICU, and in 2021, 336 babies were admitted to the unit.
Heart Strings kicked off the Inland Northwest Foundation’s three-year focus on the NICU unit, with a goal of raising three $3 million dollars by 2025.
