MultiCare’s Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals welcome new president

Executive Leadership - Laureen Driscoll

MultiCare is pleased to announce that Laureen Driscoll, MBA, MSN, RN, has been named as the new President of Tacoma General and Allenmore hospitals.

Driscoll most recently served as the President of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. She joined MultiCare in 2016 as Vice President of Operations, with the primary role as operational lead for MultiCare’s acquisition of Deaconess Hospital, Valley Hospital and the integration of Rockwood Health System into MultiCare.

Prior to joining MultiCare, Driscoll served as Chief Operating Officer for Swedish Cherry Hill Campus in Seattle and Vice President of Swedish Heart and Vascular Institute.

“Laureen knows firsthand what it is like to provide hands-on care for patients and to be with their families. Laureen’s clinical nursing experience provides her with an invaluable bond to our team members who provide care to people and families every day,” said Florence Chang, MultiCare’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “Laureen has a proven record of expanding access to health care services as part of MultiCare’s vision of becoming the highest value system of health in the Pacific Northwest.”

Driscoll is passionate regarding patient safety, quality and service excellence. She enjoys collaborating and strategizing with teams on how to improve patient outcomes, experience and organizational effectiveness.

“As an RN, I will always be a caregiver at heart. I look forward to getting to know the teams at Tacoma General, Allenmore and our surrounding communities as we partner together to promote healing and health,” Driscoll said. “This pandemic adds urgency to our work and reminds each and every one of us that the work we do is essential for individuals, families and entire communities.”

In her new position, Driscoll will oversee both Tacoma General Hospital and Allenmore Hospital.  Tacoma General has a total of 437 beds, 24-hour emergency services and Level II Adult Trauma Center, 16 operating rooms, a 25-bed coronary care unit and several Intensive Care Units by specialty. Allenmore Hospital has 130 beds, eight surgery suites, a six-bed adult intensive care unit and a newly expanded 24/7 Emergency Department.
