MultiCare Allenmore Hospital does not have a childbirth center. If you arrive to the emergency room in labor, you will be evaluated and transferred to the closest hospital with a birth center.

About the Emergency Room

The new emergency department opened in 2010, totals approximately 14,600 square feet, and is designed to improve overall patient flow. The space includes an updated lobby and waiting rooms, as well as a separate ambulance and walk-in patient entrance. We’ve nearly doubled our treatment space, with 15 new treatment rooms added to the eight already-existing rooms. This expansion allows us to treat an additional 10,000 patients per year. The new treatment spaces includes:

  • A Level 4 Trauma Center with two trauma care bays to provide evaluation, stabilization and diagnostic capabilities for injured patients.
  • A “results pending” lounge with eight patient bays.
  • One seclusion room and four safe treatment rooms.
  • One room to supports bariatric patients.

Allenmore earns geriatric emergency department accreditation

The Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) program is an American College of Emergency Physicians national accreditation which strives to improve the care of older adults presenting to the emergency department.
