This course by Marsha Dunn Klein teaches professionals how to support families dealing with extreme picky eating and mealtime anxiety using her “Get Permission Approach.” Delivered through eight flexible, self-paced modules, it focuses on understanding the underlying causes of picky eating—such as sensory, emotional, and developmental factors—rather than just applying surface-level strategies.

The program combines research, real-life case videos, and practical tools to help professionals assess anxious eaters, understand their behaviors, and guide families toward calmer, more positive mealtimes. Ultimately, it aims to help practitioners create lasting, relationship-based change, turning stressful meals into moments of connection and joy.

Objectives:

  • Who are these pickiest of eaters?
  • Why are they picky?
  • What is the Get Permission Approach?
  • How do we truly understand worried eaters?
  • How do we create mealtime transformation?
