2-Day Childbirth Class at Tacoma General Hospital

2-Day Class - This class series covers birth, comfort techniques, medications for birth, cesarean birth, postpartum, and some breastfeeding and newborn care information. Labor coping and support techniques will be practiced both days. Each class day is 6 hours with a lunch break.

Who Should Enroll: Enroll pregnant person, ages 11 and up. Partners are encouraged to attend at no additional cost. Please do not bring children to class.

Parking Notes: Park in the Baker Center parking garage and enter through the front hospital entrance. Your class will be located in the Family Education Center on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Enter through the main entrance on MLK Way and head to the back of the floor you entered on, towards the NICU. Enter the door near the Breast pump and Lactation Supply office and you will see your classroom on the right.

Class/Event Fee: $140.00 An active Provider One number for the pregnant person accepted is for this class fee.

Fee Notes: Payment required at the time of enrollment. Provider One Cards are accepted for this class.

Supply Notes: Please bring water bottles, snacks, notebook, and pen.  Feel free to bring a lunch for day long classes, food is also available for purchase in our hospitals.  Please wear comfortable clothing that will allow movement during class.

Class/Event Refund Policy: Please call to cancel if you are unable to attend. Refunds are available up to 48 hours before the first class begins, a $15.00 handling fee will be retained by MultiCare.

Inclement Weather Policy: We will notify those enrolled if class is canceled.

Couples Enrollment Policy: A class registrant may attend alone but can feel free to bring a partner at no additional charge.
