Building strong communities
We are pleased to present the 2022 MultiCare Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Reports and Implementation Strategies for each of the nine hospitals wholly owned and operated by MultiCare. These publications identify the most pressing health needs in our hospital service areas, and how we will work with our communities to address those needs.
MultiCare collaborated with Public Health Seattle-King County, Spokane Regional Health District, Thurston County Public Health & Social Services Department and the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department to collect and review community health data. This process included assessing key health indicators from several data sources and information provided by community members and leaders.
Based on this data, available resources, existing programs, and other needs identified by MultiCare leaders, each county selected the top-priority needs for their service areas as the focus of the next three-year implementation period. Those needs are outlined in each county’s CHNA Report:
2022 Community Health Needs Assessment Reports
MultiCare Pierce County Hospitals
MultiCare Spokane County Hospitals
MultiCare King County Hospitals
MultiCare Thurston County Hospitals
MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital
Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital
Using the needs identified in the above reports, MultiCare developed individual Implementation Strategies for each hospital service area. These strategies represent our commitment to providing the highest quality programs and services to promote health and healing in all the communities we serve across the state of Washington.

Past Community Health Needs Assessment Reports and implementation strategies
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA) requires tax-exempt hospitals to create a hospital community health needs assessment every three years.
