MultiCare Health System’s pharmaceutical resource clinics offer diabetes medication management for people diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. At each visit, you’ll receive education and instruction from a pharmacist experienced in diabetes treatment.
Clinic introduction
Your physician will need to refer you to be seen for diabetes medication management. You’ll be contacted by the clinic staff to schedule an appointment.
Services provided
A pharmacist will work with you to design a medication regimen to improve your blood sugar control and meet A1c goals. You’ll meet with a pharmacist trained in diabetes management for a diabetes medication consultation and follow-up as needed.
The pharmacist can start, continue, change or stop diabetes medication, and order labs and testing supplies. They cannot replace your doctor or other health care provider for diabetes checkups and other standards of care. Our pharmacists work in partnership with your provider to help you achieve your A1c goals. Once you reach your blood sugar goals, diabetes medication management can be turned back over to the referring provider.
