At MultiCare Yakima Memorial, chaplains are available to patients and their families to provide them with emotional and spiritual care support in their time of need. Chaplains are not restricted to a religious denomination.
Chaplains have been clinically trained to focus on the spiritual and emotional needs of the patient, family and staff. They provide support to patients and families in a variety of circumstances and occasions:
- Chaplains are there to listen when patients and their families feel vulnerable, afraid, confused or lonely.
- Chaplains provide nonjudgmental and confidential spiritual support.
- Chaplains respect and understand various religions and cultures, and may advocate for family preferences with healthcare.
- Chaplains help patients maintain perspective while providing help in their toughest moments.
- Chaplains are available to help families struggling with ethical and other difficult decisions related to illness or end of life.
- Chaplains are able to contact your spiritual leader for visitation.
Where are chaplain services available?
Chaplain Services are available at MultiCare Yakima Memorial’s main campus and at Cottage in the Meadow, or by request at North Star Lodge and Children’s Village.
MultiCare Yakima Memorial’s chapel is located at the main campus on the ground floor just to the left of the cafeteria’s main entrance; the chaplain’s office is next door left of the chapel.
If you are a patient and would like a chaplain to visit or would like a chaplain to contact your own spiritual leader, contact the Chaplain’s Office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 509-575-8035.
At any other time (nights and weekends), let your nurse know and they will contact the chaplain on-call.

¿Dónde están disponibles los servicios de capellán?
Los servicios de capellán están disponibles en el campus principal del MultiCare Yakima Memorial y en Cottage in the Meadow, o por solicitud en North Star Lodge y Children’s Village.
